The majority of students attending the Writing Center are refered to us by teachers. We hope that teachers continue to urge their struggling writers (and even those who just want a better grade) to enroll in the center.

Teachers are vital to the student success, both in the classroom and in tutoring. Teacher-Tutor communications are used during the Fall and Spring semesters as a way to establish a dialogue between the teachers and the tutors. Every tutor sends an email to the coordinator during the 3rd week of tutoring, which is forwarded to the instructor. These emails inform the instructors of the tutoring progress, and also provide the instructor the chance to indicate if there are any other areas the tutor should focus on with the student. Teacher-Tutor communications ensure that students are being tutored in the areas that are most beneficial to their writing success.
